Richeng Luan appointed Chairman of COFCO International
COFCO International announced today the appointment of Mr Richeng Luan as Chairman.
GENEVA, Switzerland – COFCO International announced today the appointment of Mr Richeng Luan as Chairman.
Mr Luan has served as Vice-President of COFCO Corporation (COFCO) since 2016, responsible for the group’s grains and oilseeds, sugar and cotton businesses. He is Chairman of several COFCO subsidiaries including COFCO Trading, China Agri and Chinatex. Before joining COFCO, Mr Luan was General Manager of Chinatex Corporation, which became a wholly owned subsidiary of COFCO in 2016.
Mr Luan succeeds Jingtao (Johnny) Chi who has stepped down as Chairman of COFCO International after being appointed President of China Grain Reserves Group Ltd (Sinograin). Mr Chi served as CEO and Vice-Chairman of COFCO International from 2017 and was appointed Chairman in October 2018.
Additionally, Wei (David) Dong was appointed Vice-Chairman of COFCO International. Mr Dong joined COFCO International as CEO and Board Director in December 2018.
Mr Luan has a master’s degree in Chinese literature from Shandong University, and an EMBA from China Europe International Business School. He will continue to be based in Beijing.
