Genetically Modified Organisms

As a rapidly-growing international agri-business, meeting rising demand for food in a sustainable way is key to our purpose. We believe that science and technology, used in a responsible manner, are crucial for meeting tomorrow’s demand by increasing agricultural productivity and ensuring availability of safe and nutritious food for all.

Policy Statement on Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs)

Genetic modification (GM) is one element of biotechnology. It has a role to play in sustainable food production by making crops more resilient and by effective use of natural resources, such as water and land. GM products go through strict regulatory approval to ensure their safety, prior to their authorisation for use in food products.

We strictly follow our principle to provide products that are safe, meet all regulatory requirements and fulfil our high standards for quality. We are committed to managing risks related to the use of GMOs in products, are aware of ongoing debate and different stakeholder views on the use of GM technology in food and agriculture and encourage further dialogue on the topic.

We fully respect consumers’ rights to know what is in their food. As a business-to-business company, our products may be exempt from GMO product labeling requirements. We aim to meet all legal requirements regarding labelling of GMO products, and to provide transparency and support our customers to meet relevant regulatory disclosure requirements and consumer expectations.
